Heartwood Online Handbook Dev Log #4 -Expanded the Interactive Atlas Players can now open atlas maps, pan, zoom, use grid coordinates, copy exact X/Y locations, and click saved locations for more information. -Added map search and location jumping. Players can search for map locations, points of interest, checkpoints, routes, and notes to quickly find what they are looking for. -Added route and path support to the atlas. Routes can now show starts, checkpoints, and endpoints, making maps useful for travel paths, race routes, event routes, and guide paths. -Added map exports. Map views can now be exported as PNG images with visible markers, routes, grid labels, and the selected map view color. -Added map editing tools for staff. Atlas editors can add points and routes more easily, manage larger maps more clearly, and use cleaner grouped map sections. -Added the Cartographer staff role. Cartographers can focus on building and maintaining the Interactive Atlas without needing broader site permissions. -Event pages show the host, server, location, prize or reward, timezone information, reminders, and map location. -Added calendar view for Community Events. -Added event map support using the Interactive Atlas. Event hosts can place an event point on a map, create a race path, or use both together. -Added event reminders. Players can set reminders for upcoming community events so they do not miss races, tournaments, contests, gatherings, or guild-hosted activities. -The planner now limits active upcoming events and cleans up older completed events so the system stays organized. -Improved the News section into a proper game news area. News posts now show the poster’s avatar, name, staff rank, posted date, main image, report text, video support, and extra image galleries. -Added the Reporter staff role. Reporters can post news and edit their own news reports without gaining broader staff access to unrelated tools. -Improved mobile and PC usability across the newer tools. The atlas, event planner, event calendar, event pages, and news pages have all been adjusted to work better on both phone and desktop. -Continued building the Handbook into a stronger Heartwood Online player resource, with better maps, events, news, item information, staff tools, and community features working together. A special thank you to Davro of Heartwood Online for taking the time to provide the map assets used by the Handbook. The Interactive Atlas features would not be possible in their current form without that time, help, and support. Those assets allow the Handbook to give players a much better way to explore maps, plan events, share locations, and build useful community guides. Thank you! Don’t forget to check out the image Davro shared on Discord! Teamwork makes the Dream-work! NorthGate <Builder of Weaving tools>
